Vulnerable Youth
Outreach

Bringing love, care, and restoration to Liberia’s most vulnerable children.

The Problem

Across Liberia, tens of thousands of young people—commonly labeled as “Zogoes”—live in the shadows of society.

Homeless, addicted, and often survivors of trauma, many of these youth find themselves trapped in street life, abandoned ghettos, and high-risk environments. They’ve been written off as criminals, thieves, or nuisances—but behind each label is a story of pain, brokenness, and lost opportunity.

Stigma, addiction, poverty, and lack of access to basic services make reintegration nearly impossible. And without intervention, these young lives spiral further into hopelessness, violence, and early death—while society looks the other way.

Our Response

At HopeGivers Ministries, we don’t see “Zogoes”—we see God’s children with unrealized potential. Through our Vulnerable Youth Outreach initiative, we are committed to walking into the hard places—into the streets, ghettos, and corners—and extending compassion, connection, and restoration.

This initiative includes:

Street outreach and engagement, building trust through consistent presence, conversation, and care.
Feeding and hygiene support, offering hot meals, clean clothing, and basic health services.
Drug recovery and referral pathways, connecting youth to faith-based rehabilitation centers and counseling.
Discipleship and spiritual mentorship, helping youth reconnect with their identity in Christ.
Skill-building programs, providing paths out of addiction through training, work-readiness, and reintegration.
Advocacy and community education, challenging the stigma and promoting dignity-based language and approaches.

We believe no one is too far gone for God’s grace—or society’s embrace.

The Change We Seek

We envision a Liberia where no youth is discarded, and where society embraces the call to heal—not reject—its most wounded.

Through this project, we aim to:

Restore dignity to street-involved youth through love, trust, and tangible support.
Reduce street crime and drug dependency, replacing survival-based behavior with purpose and belonging.
Foster long-term transformation, helping youth reintegrate into families, churches, schools, and communities.
Shift public perception, encouraging Liberians to see at-risk youth not as a threat, but as a mission field.
Raise up transformed voices, so former addicts and street dwellers become advocates, mentors, and messengers of hope.
✨ Jesus went to the margins—and so do we. Together, let’s rewrite the story of Liberia’s most vulnerable youth. One name. One face. One restored life at a time.
