HopeGivers Ministries Holds Christmas Party for Two Hundred Plus Kids in Liberia, Under the Theme, “Keeping Christ in Christmas”

Many children in Liberia look for places to go during the Christmas season. Most times, kids are left alone to visit friends and family members for what is commonly known as “their Christmas”. This year, HopeGivers Ministries brought together more than 200 of these kids in Sanniquellie and Monrovia to learn the true meaning of Christmas through the study of the Bible, and to share gifts. These kids came from eleven (11) churches and the communities.

We believe that one of the ways to keep children directed and focused on the true meaning of Christmas is to direct them to Christ.  Having seen how many kids are left to themselves on this day, this intervention became paramount.  We were intentional about reaching out to kids in need who may not have a play to celebrate Christmas. But most important of all, to share Christ and to put smiles on their faces.

Collaboration With 7 Churches In Nimba

The conduct of the Keeping Christ in Christmas Children Party in Nimba was coordinated by our program Coordinator, Deacon William S. Mandein, and assisted by Rev. and Mrs. Emmanuel G. Lah. Rev. Lah led the kids in a time of singing and Bible studies on the true meaning and importance of Christmas.

The program provided a great opportunity for collaboration with seven (7) churches in Nimba to work together with the HopeGivers Ministries in reaching people and communities for Christ.

The program was carried out at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sanniquellie City bringing together 50 kids (23 girls and 27 boys)

Celebration at the Hub of Hope

In Monrovia, the Keeping Christ in Christmas Children Party brought together more than 150 kids, the majority of whom we have been working with over the years.  Some are members of our “Reaching Children for Christ” program.  The program was held at the HopeGivers Hub of Hope.

The kids had a wonderful time singing, quoting Bible verses, playing, having fun, and sharing gifts.

Gifts received included clothes, toys, pencils, copybooks, sweets, and Christmas hats. Snacks were served, and smiles were shared.
