HopeGivers Ministries Celebrates Five Young Women Graduating From Skills Training

Today marks a joyful milestone for HopeGivers Ministries as we celebrate five deserving young women who graduated from the PriseGlow Skills Training Program – a program we proudly sponsored as part of our ongoing girls’ education and empowerment initiatives.

These young ladies have worked diligently to acquire practical, income-generating skills that can open doors to independence, dignity, and long-term stability. Their achievement is more than a certificate; it is a step toward a future filled with possibilities.

Why Skills Training Matters for Less Fortunate Females in Liberia

Across Liberia, many young women face barriers that limit their access to education, employment, and safe opportunities.  Due to limited opportunities and marginalization of females in society, every little opportunity is essential.

Skills training becomes a lifeline, equipping them with:

  • Marketable abilities that can immediately translate into income
  • Confidence and self-worth rooted in their own capability
  • Protection from exploitation, early relationships, and economic vulnerability
  • A pathway to entrepreneurship, leadership, and community impact

When a young woman gains a skill, she gains a voice. She gains options. She gains the power to shape her own story.

This is why HopeGivers Ministries invests in skills training: because equipping and empowering one young woman can transform an entire family and, ultimately, a community.

The training focused on equipping participants with practical, hands-on skills in the production of eight different household and beauty products, including perfume, air freshener, liquid soap, hair grease, and other related items. The program is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and empowering young people to create small businesses for economic self-reliance.

Participants were trained in basic production techniques, packaging, and business readiness skills to help them effectively apply what they learned in real-life business settings.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Etta Flomo, one of our sponsored students, gave thanks to God for the opportunity provided by HopeGivers Ministries, which enabled her and many others to benefit from the training.  Etta said that when she heard about the training, she wanted to be part of it but did not have the means to register and pay the fees; she reached out to several people in hopes of help, but all efforts proved fruitless until HopeGivers Ministries provided sponsorship.  Etta promised to put the skills she acquired to use and start her own business.  She also commended PrisGlow for providing the training, which she described as life-changing.  She, however, pleaded with HopeGivers and others to help the graduates with start-up kits to start their own businesses.

Our Commitment to Real Change

At HopeGivers Ministries, we remain committed to equipping youth and young adults who are seeking real, lasting change. Whether through education, leadership development, Christian discipleship and spiritual formation, or skills training, we believe in creating opportunities that restore hope, dignity, and purpose; and we do all these to the glory of God.

Today, we celebrate these five graduates; and we reaffirm our mission to stand with many more young women across Liberia who deserve the chance to thrive.

You can help us provide skills for additional young people in need by making a generous donation of any amount.
